Staircase villages are what called us to the Province of Kurdistan in Northern Iran. Not only is their architecture quite unique, it's also a place that doesn't get much tourism, due to national embassies often marking it as dangerous and I always to love see, what these areas are actually like. In the end we ended up seeing two villages - Uraman Takht and Palangan. We tried to do more, but the limits in public transport didn't allow for more, since we didn't know how much time we could spend on private drivers yet. It is a very beautiful area...
